There was quite a buzz following last weeks membership meeting with presenter Andie Creamer, HRMS of Human Resource Management Services.  Andie shared the lastest information available from ARRA and other forth coming legislation.  Members asked great questions and shared some of their own experiences.

Did you know....

• That a single HIPPA violation could result in a $50,000 fine and multiple violations could cost your organization upto 1.5 million dollars?
• Are you and your employees educated on the    Act and what this REALLY means to the employees and the company?
• What policies have you set in place to address workplace use of Facebook, My Space, Twitter, LinkedIn etc...
• There are now two different types of COBRA coverages that your company needs to administer.  Do you know which employees are elgible for which level of coverage?  The difference is $1000's of dollars.

Grab your lunch, a stack of business cards and come to our first networking event to learn more about these topics and discuss how other members are reacting, and better yet, being proactive in addressing these changes.

How it will Work

Each member will have an opportunity to share a specific challenge or a new policy or practice they have implemented as a result of the new legislation.   Other council members offer ideas, solutions, ask questions, or suggest meetings by noting their ideas on the back of their business card and putting it in an envelope with your name on it.  At the end of the event, each member will leave with an envelope full of ideas, contacts, and possibly an opportunity for collaoration!  If you did not attend the membership meeting, you should still attend.  This is a great opportunity to get to know other Capital Healthcare Employment Council members, hear what was discussed at the May 24 meeting and share what you have learned from your resources.

What to Bring

• Your lunch!  Don't be shy.  There will be ample table and seating space for you to enjoy your lunch
• A specific challenge you facing or anticipating as a result of new legislation

Or,

• A new policy, practice or strategy you have implemented to respond to new or forth coming legislation
• A stack of business cards and a pen
• Ideas, questions, creativity, samples, etc...
