Business Services

Pre-screened Applicants - Finding the right employee can be a time consuming and costly process.  If you are looking for a no cost approach, let our staff handle your pre-screening.

Recruitment Assistance - The Capital Area Michigan Works! service center staff will work with you to determine what skills you need in a new employee.  They will conduct a search through our current list of job-ready workers and match their skills to your needs.  If the skills you are looking for are more specialized, they can customize the recruitment process specifically for your business.

Rehabilitation Business Services - Obtain assistance at Capital Area Michigan Works! Service Centers through Michigan Rehabilitation Services for a variety of your business needs, such as employee retention, injury prevention and ergonomics; American with Disabilities Act consultation; reasonable accomodation; disability management and a number of workplace trainings.

Michigan Talent Bank - The Michigan Talent Bank is one of the largest public resume and jobs systems in the nation.  There are no user fees and this internet database is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can review more than 600,000 resumes, quickly find the candidates who have the skills and experience you need and post job openings at no expense.

Training - Capital Area Michigan Works! may assist you in obtaining a Michigan Economic Development Corporation grant, which provides employers with up to 75 percent of approved employee training expenses.  In addition, other funds may be available to reimburse you for training a new employee meeting specifc eligibility requirements, or upgrading the skills of your current workforce.  More details below.
